Season 12 resets: what's changing with ranks

Greens Staff5 min read

Season 12 begins on July 1. The rank reset process is changing this season in ways that affect every player from Rookie through Legend. This post explains the changes plainly so there are no surprises when your profile updates at midnight on June 30.

New rank thresholds

Score requirements for each tier above Silver have increased by approximately 12 percent. This reflects growing average player activity over the past season, which pushed most of the mid-rank population toward the top of their brackets. In practical terms: reaching Gold requires more consistent wins than it did in Season 11, and Diamond demands sustained performance across multiple modes rather than grinding a single one. The goal is to keep each rank meaningful as the overall player base improves.

How the soft reset works

A full reset would bring every player back to Rookie. We have not done that since Season 4 and we are not doing it now. The soft reset drops every player two tiers while keeping all underlying stats intact. A Diamond player opens Season 12 at Silver. A Gold player opens at Bronze. Players currently at Rookie or Bronze are protected from falling below Rookie. Your Season 11 rank is permanently recorded on your profile card and visible to anyone who visits your page.

Mode-specific placements

This is the most significant structural change of the season. Previously, your rank was a single network-wide score calculated across all modes. Starting in Season 12, each mode tracks its own placement independently. Your Race rank and your Battle Royale rank are separate numbers that progress separately. The rank displayed on your profile card is the highest of your individual mode rankings. Leaderboards now show per-mode standings, which means a Race specialist is no longer competing against a Deathmatch player for the same overall slot.

When the transition happens

Season 11 closes at 23:59 UTC on June 30. Season 12 rankings go live at 00:01 UTC on July 1. There will be a brief window where both systems show as provisional while the migration runs. Expect that period to last under two hours. If your rank looks incorrect after the window closes, contact support through the forum with your username and they will check the migration log and correct it directly.
